Hass and Fuerte Avocado

Avocado is one of the most demanded crops in local and international markets. Hass is the main export variety and is preferred due to higher fat content than other varieties which gives it a richer taste while Fuerte is preferred for processing. Avocados are very nutritious with a high protein and oil content and is now becoming increasingly important as a healthy supplement. The fruit is nearly sodium free, rich in potassium dietary fibre and vitamin B6, C, D and E. It is eaten as fresh fruit, in salads, soups, ice cream, also used to make avocado oil, perfume and avocado paste.
